Coming soon (in development): TerraWave is building a hands-free, flow-through grain moisture meter to reduce (and in many cases eliminate) manual sampling and handheld moisture tests during drying, blending, loading, and bin filling.
Instead of stopping to scoop a sample, the meter reads moisture in real time as grain moves through. Then it displays the percentage instantly and sends the data to the TerraWave app for recording and tracking.

Why this matters
Moisture checks often interrupt the job. First, you stop the flow. Next, you grab a sample. Then you test, sometimes more than once. As a result, you lose time and still don’t always see what’s happening minute to minute.
Our goal is simple: make moisture measurement continuous during operations so you can make decisions with more confidence.
How the flow-through moisture meter works
The unit measures moisture as grain passes through and shows the percentage immediately. In addition, it sends the readings to the TerraWave app so you can save and review moisture data by job, date, or location.
Designed to keep grain moving
We designed the meter to avoid restricting grain movement. That’s why it includes an overflow mechanism.
Depending on the flow rate and setup, the device will measure either:
- All grain passing through, or
- A representative portion, while excess grain continues through the overflow path
This approach helps prevent backups while still capturing useful, actionable moisture data.
Development status
This product is under development. So far, we’ve tested on wheat. Next, we’re expanding testing to more grain types as we build calibrations and validate performance.
